The Lapworth Village Hall playground was opened as soon as it was allowed. This came with a large amount of Covid related health and safety advisory guidance but we are pleased to see that it is being enjoyed whilst being used responsibly.
The Parish Council has continued to support the distribution and sale of masks made by local volunteers and nearly £1,000 has been raised for Lapworth School, huge thanks are extended to those who have given time and materials and to those who bought the masks. Masks are still available through the Surgery and the Post Office.
The official shielding period ended on 1stAugust and the prescription collection service paused for the moment. However the Volunteers are continuing to operate with the helpline 01564 781360 still manned, and food buying and delivery still available through the phone line. It has been a tremendous effort from all Volunteers It is heartening so see how the community has pulled together during these difficult times.
A new kissing gate has been installed on Footpath W8 through the Melson Memorial Lands next to the cricket club. Thanks were extended to the Melson Memorial Trust for their prompt action in rectifying this problem and the WCC Footpath team who gave a grant contribution to the works.
