At the Chiltern Railways Community Conference 2023, the Friends of Lapworth Station were presented with the award for “Group of the Year”. After being nominated by others, the final decision came down to members and directors of Chiltern Railways and the Community Rail Network. The group was particularly praised for its community involvement shown by the number of volunteers in the group, the production of five excellent pieces of artwork by the school and the financial support from local businesses and individuals. The excellent planters and the newly-installed bird boxes were also shown in presentations.
