Clerk’s Report May 2019

LAPWORTH PARISH COUNCIL REPORT

The May Annual meeting of Lapworth Parish Council saw Clive Henderson and Haydn Rees unanimously elected as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.  There are still vacancies for Parish Councillors and if you would like to find out more about what is entailed please contact either Cllr Henderson or the clerk.

The big agenda item is progress at the Village Hall Play Area.  Work has started and it is anticipated it will be finished by the end of May, following which a week or so is needed for grass to re-establish but at latest it will be open for action mid June.

Plans are in hand for an official opening during the summer.

Less progress has been made in relation to the BT phone box next to Lapworth Station.  This now owned by the Parish Council and if you have any suggestions as to how it could be put to good use please let us know.  One so far has been to use etched glass to promote local businesses but we have received no expressions of interest to take that up.

On a wider note it has been confirmed that the Horse Fair previously held in Kenilworth has permanently relocated to Nottingham.

The next Meeting of the Parish Council is scheduled to take place on Monday 10thJune at 7.30pm in the Committee Room of Lapworth Village Hall.  Meetings are held at the same time the second Monday of each month.

Minutes and Agendas for meetings are on the Parish Council website www.lapworthpc.org.uk
