Clerk’s Report May 2015

LAPWORTH PARISH COUNCIL REPORT

At the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council Cllr David Corney was unanimously re-elected to the position of Chairman and Cllr Clive Henderson to the position of Vice-Chairman.

In future the Warwick District Council representatives will be Cllr Mrs Sue Gallagher and Cllr Peter Whiting who were both elected on the 7th May following Cllr Les Caborn’s resignation.  The Parish Council looks forward to welcoming them to the June meeting.

Cllr Henderson put forward a proposal to create a safe pedestrian route beside the B4439 Old Warwick Road between Sands Farm and Bell Cottages.  This would allow pedestrians to get from Lapworth to Hockley Heath without having to walk on the road.  The proposal has been forwarded to Warwickshire County Council for consideration.

Shortly motorists should be able to find Lapworth Street as an instruction has been issued for a replacement street nameplate has been issued.

Suggestions are being sought for a piece of land within the Village that the Parish Council could look to raise funds for, to buy and develop as a larger play area.  This is not a new agenda item and to date no suitable site has been found so any support that could be given by local residents would be appreciated.
